Foreign minister Sergei Lavrov promised not to harm the american citizens getting Russian visas in response to the recent steps of Washington, he stated at a press conference. That is, if anyone was hoping that in this case, a bad example is contagious, he miscalculated — said Lavrov. In his opinion, the decision of the us authorities intended to cause dissatisfaction of Russian citizens, the leadership of the country. This logic is known — this is the logic of those who organize color revolutions, and it is the inertia of the obama administration in its purest form — said the head of the foreign ministry, RIA Novosti reported. Earlier, the us embassy reported that on august 23 it will suspend indefinitely the issuing of a U.S. Non-immigrant visas throughout russia.

The first of september, this procedure will resume, but only in Moscow. Interviews for nonimmigrant visa in the consulates of the USA in st. -petersburg, yekaterinburg and vladivostok will be suspended until further notice. In addition, the embassy will not return the visa fees for the Russians applying for a visa. These measures at the embassy explained the reduction in the number of employees. Restrictions will apply until the number of american diplomats will not increase, said the embassy.
