Russia always occupied a special place in the global helicopter industry. The demand for helicopters remains high, and in our country this kind of air transport is simply necessary, given the vast expanses and complex geographical conditions. Currently a key role in the Russian helicopter industry plays the holding company "Helicopters of Russia", which produces 100% of the market of military helicopters and 68% of the civil helicopters in the country. It is the "Russian Helicopters" are the only suppliers of military helicopters for the armed forces. But now, due to certain circumstances, the holding relies on the increase in the share of civilian cars in their products. One of the main tasks which the helicopter is updating of Park of equipment. However, the export of helicopters depends on the availability of orders of the Russian Ministry of defence for the modernization of helicopter equipment. Now "Helicopters of Russia" is actively working on a project of a special helicopter "Lamprey" for aviation of the Navy of Russia.
