In India, an exhibition of arms DefExpo-2020: what will represent on it Russia

In India, today opened DefExpo-2020 – India's largest defense exhibition, which presents the products as the Indian military industry, and foreign companies. Salon, 11-th, will be the largest for all history of its holding.

The event started in the city of Lucknow, in the state of Uttar Pradesh in Northern India, February 5 and runs until 9 February. It involves 1029 companies, including 857 organizations represent India, and 172 other countries. In the exhibition expected participation of representatives from more than 70 countries.
Not coincidentally, India has pursued a similar event. Currently, the country ranks fifth in the world in terms of the defense budget. The Indian market of arms and military equipment is considered to be one of the most comprehensive, promising and dynamically developing in the modern world.

The exhibition will be presented in the first place, the latest Indian weapons. For example, Indian Institute of technology (Madras) will present a multi-purpose expendable unmanned aerial vehicles, set fire control of the new generation, new technologies artillery shells.

Not so long ago India was the only consumer of Soviet, Russian, American, European military products. But times have changed. Today, the country itself is one of the largest exporters of weapons, supplying weapons and military equipment in 18 countries. The Minister of defence of India Rajnath Singh, talking about the exhibition, special attention was paid to the presence of representatives of 30 African States. That is African countries today are considered as major importers of Indian weapons, therefore, for new Delhi Indo-African cooperation is very important.

Russia is a key partner of India in the arms market and it is no coincidence that the exhibition in Lucknow our country is represented by 20 enterprises of the military-industrial complex, including such giants as "Helicopters of Russia", "Almaz-Antey", "Uralvagonzavod" and many other companies.
The exhibition will show more than 500 samples of Russian military equipment, arms, special equipment. Among them – the tanks T-90S and T-90MS, multi-purpose helicopter "Ansat", the latest anti-aircraft missile complex "Viking", which is the export version of the famous "Buk-M3", the newest universal combat module AU-220M for the equipment of various infantry fighting vehicles, the engine turbofan-50МТ for light aircraft, counter-unmanned aerial vehicles and much more.

For example, Boeing India shows new combat helicopter AH-64E Apache Guardian and Maritime patrol aircraft P-8I. The company Lockheed Martin for the first time will present an Indian audience, the fifth generation fighter F-35 Lightning II.

For our country's participation in DefExpo-2020 provides an excellent opportunity to demonstrate to the foreign representatives the advantages of the newest Russian technologies in the defense sector. Of course, the main focus will be on developing partnerships with India, but Russian products could represent a significant interest to representatives of many other States who came to the exhibition. In particular, the same African States, traditionally the former buyers of Russian military equipment, will be able to see her new samples. It is not excluded that by results of the exhibition will be discussed and the possible signing any contracts.
